Flonase (fluticasone) and Vistaril (hydroxyzine pamoate) do not have any drug interactions and can be taken concurrently. You do not need to wait any amount of time between taking either medication with the other.

Flonase (fluticsone) is available over the counter as a nasal spray. It is a nasal corticosteriod that is used to treat symptoms commonly associated with year round and seasonal allergies.

Common side effects observed with Flonase can include:

  • Headache
  • Stuffy and or runny nose
  • Tiredness and weakness
  • Bloody nose
  • Muscle aches
  • Sore throat
  • Chest tightness
  • Trouble breathing

Vistaril (Hydroxyzine)

Vistaril (hydroxyzine pamoate) is a prescription antihistamine used to treat a wide variety of conditions including but limited to anxiety and allergic reactions.

Common side effects observed with Vistaril include:

  • Dry mouth
  • Mild to severe drowsiness
  • Blurred vision
  • Headache

Flonase and Vistaril do not directly interact with each other and can safely be taken at the same time. Although no direct interactions exist you should always make you doctor aware of all medications you are taking so that they may institute the most appropriate therapy based on your medical history.
