I've a sinus infection and currently taking a methylprednisolone pack. May I take 2 Tylenol Sinus Pressure tablets?

Answer

There is no drug interaction between the Medrol Dose Pack (methylprednisolone) and Tylenol Sinus (acetaminophen and phenylephrine). They are considered safe to take together.

The Medrol Dose Pack is a 6 day, 21 tablet regimen of methylprednisolone, used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs and is often used for treatment of asthma exacerbations, allergic skin reactions (e.g. poison ivy) and bronchitis.

Tylenol Sinus contains:

  • Acetaminophen
  • Phenylephrine

Acetaminophen is an analgesic while phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant. Both are safe to take with methylprednisolone.
