I take Effexor 150 mg daily and also have a prescription for motilium to help with milk production I heard there are risks taking them but can they still be taken together

It is generally not recommended to take Effexor XR and Motilium together. There is a potentially serious interaction between the two medications.
Both Effexor and Motilium are associated with QT prolongation, a risk factor for serious arrhythmias such as ventricular tachyarrhythmias and torsades de pointes.
The prescribing information for Motilium specifically states that use of the drug is contraindicated in those taking other drugs that can potentially prolong the QT interval, such as Effexor.
Be sure to speak with your doctor about the potential adverse reactions if you have been prescribed both drugs.
Motilium
Motilium (domperidone) is a dopamine receptor blocker used for a variety of GI motility disorders such as diabetic gastroparesis and nausea/vomiting associated with medication use. It is also used to increase prolactin levels.
Effexor XR
Effexor XR (venlafaxine) is a SNRI antidepressant medication that is also used anxiety disorders as well as off-label for neuropathic pain. It works by inhibiting the re-uptake of both serotonin and norepinephrine.
