What do you recommend for a 4 month old with stuffy nose due to a cold (no fever)?

Answer

Saline nasal drops/spray is usually recommended to loosen thick nasal mucus.  After loosening,  you can suction with a rubber-bulb syringe. You can also use the bulb syringe to irrigate the nasal passage with saline drops. The bulb syringe should be washed with soap and water between each use.

Moistening the air with either a humidifier or vaporizer can also help relieve nasal congestion and cough. Both humidifiers and vaporizers seem to work equally well in relieving cold symptoms.
